Anyone who still wants to build a community today, or wants to keep their existing one, must be able to create a peaceful and constructive environment for it. In the peaceful internet, platform rules are no longer just a recommendation but consistently create a space for constructive discussions without hate and fake news. Nevertheless, no one has to reveal their identity and everyone can participate. In the meantime, there are models and solutions that are already being successfully applied by committed online media to enable an open and peaceful Internet with little moderation effort.
For constructive cooperation, rules and laws are needed for the community. They must be comprehensible and fair and protect the community from attacks and false reports. Users who are attacked or harassed by trolls and bots often leave platforms permanently.
Rules alone do not help. It must also be possible to enforce them. If the consequences for rule violations are meaningless, the rules are worthless. At the very least, there must be verification with the telephone number, but this must be anonymous as a matter of urgency. So that users do not have to reveal their identity during verification and because it saves implementation effort, platforms use trusted accounts.
In most EU countries, including Austria and Germany, identification is already required to obtain a new phone number. In addition, telephone numbers are always associated with costs because they are tied to network providers. That's why there are only a few disposable numbers on the Internet, which are quickly used up. So phone number verification is an efficient method to protect your community from trolls and haters.

Achtung! Eine Email-Verifikation schafft keine Abhilfe. Email-Adressen können endlos und kostenfrei generiert werden und das gilt nicht nur für die bekannten Wegwerf-Adressen. Das Internet kann nur offen und frei für alle bleiben, wenn in einer diversen Plattform-Landschaft die Moderationsmaßnahmen von den Plattformen selbst gesetzt werden. Handle also klug und baue dir nach und nach eine vertrauenswürdige Community auf und sei fair zu deinen Nutzer und Nutzerinnen.
So werden moderne Plattformen und Online-Medien dem heutigen Anspruch der Nutzerinnen und Nutzer nach konstruktiven Diskussionen in einer vertrauenswürdigen Community gerecht.
